Chaplaincy Training with HCMA: Am I Qualified?
Chaplaincy training is a growing area at HCMA. Here are our core chaplain certifications. Contact us for more information on additional training options.
Board Certified Chaplain (BCC)
To become an HCMA Board Certified Chaplain, you must:
- Have a personal relationship with Christ and feel called to healthcare chaplaincy
- Hold pastoral care experience
- Have a seminary degree (minimum of 64 graduate units)
- Be an ordained or commissioned minister, endorsed by your Protestant denomination
Alternative Path: Certified Clinical Chaplain (CCC)
If you feel called to healthcare chaplaincy but do not meet the ordination or theological requirements, our Certified Clinical Chaplain (CCC) program may be right for you. This certification allows those with relevant training, including four units of clinical pastoral education, to serve in healthcare settings, expanding their ministry in a meaningful way.
